Kristian Daniel "Kris" Willhight

Kristian Daniel "Kris" Willhight was born May 10, 1977 in Mt. Vernon, Washington to Dian Louise and James Alan Willhight. He passed away serving and protecting his community on January 23, 2014 at the age of 36 years, 8 months and 13 days.

Kris moved to Mangum, Oklahoma with his mother in 1989 where he graduated from high school in 1996. He graduated from Western Oklahoma State College with an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. Kris was a graduate of CLEET. He began working for the Oklahoma State Reformatory in Granite before beginning his career in law enforcement working for Mangum and Granite Police Departments. In 2010 he moved to Burns Flat, Oklahoma and began working for the Burns Flat Police Department. He was an active member and was passionate about his work with MADD.

Kris was a single father and dedicated his life to raising his beautiful daughter, "Mini Me".

He was a member of the Lutheran Church and the Masonic Lodge of Mangum.

He is survived by his daughter, Evelyn Marie Willhight, parents, Jim Willhight, Lebanon, OR, Dian Jackson and husband, Haywood, Farmington, NM; 5 brothers and sisters, Bethanne O'Keefe and husband, Evan, Farmington, NM, Jamie Mills and husband, Donald, Bloomfield, NM, Byron Willhight and wife, Opal, Bloomfield, NM, Leeah Leonard and husband, Sebastian, Farmington, NM, Andrew Willhight, Bloomfield, NM; his maternal grandmother, Hazel Adams, Farmington, NM and a host of other relatives and friends.
