Brenda Colleen Jaco, age 70, of Mangum, passed away at her home late Monday evening, June 25, 2012, in Mangum.
Brenda was born in Altus, Oklahoma on June 18, 1942, to Henry and Betty (Cook) Olive. She attended school in Mangum until she married Jerry Don Wilson on December 31, 1958. Years later, she married Claude Jaco, Jr. and they made their home in Rock Springs, Wyoming where Brenda was active in the American Legion Auxiliary. After Claude’s death, she moved back to Mangum where she continued her activities with the American Legion. Brenda was employed by Mangum Oil & Gas and also the Greer County Sheriff’s Department, a job which she loved. After she retired she spent as much time with her family as possible. Brenda loved to cook and was an avid reader.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one son, John Henry Wilson, she is survived by two children, Darcia Henry of Mangum and Clint Wilson and wife Leah of Franklin, Texas; three grandsons, Jonathan Henry of Mangum, Cody and Keegan Wilson of Franklin, Texas; two brothers, Clayton Olive of Mangum and Ben Olive and wife Phyllis of Bryan, Texas; one sister Neda Neathery and husband Orphie of San Antonio, Texas along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral services for Brenda Jaco will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 30, 2012, at Mangum First Baptist Church with Pastor Shawn Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
