Irene T. Killingsworth
1928 - 2005

Services: Fri., July 29, 1:30 p.m.

Irene, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, died July 20th while in a nursing home on Bainbridge Island, WA. She was born in Magnum, OK to Henry and Lillie Hughes and moved to Bakersfield in 1928.

She was one of 8 children. She eventually moved to San Diego where she lived for 30 years and owned a beauty shop before moving back to Bakersfield in 1985.

After the death of her husband, John, she moved to Washington to be with her daughter and grandchildren.

Irene loved being with family, gardening, her home and riding in a car.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her brothers Coy, Elvin, Harley; her sisters, Lillie Mae, Laura and Sue.

She is survived her only child Lynda Blain and her husband Wil; grandchildren, Michael and his wife Julie; Shelley and her husband David; Kimberley and her husband, Jeremy; Wesley Blain; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Jaden, Djemilah, Leo, Emily and Jordan and her brother, Carter Hughes and his wife, Evelyn and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted by Pastor Billy Rash at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Chapel, 2739 Panama Ln.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the American Lung Association or a charity or a church of choice. Viewing scheduled for Thursday, July 28 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
