Nellie Marie Roberts, age 86, of Mangum, formerly of Granite, passed away Saturday afternoon, March 3, 2012, at Grace Living Center, in Mangum.
Mrs. Roberts was born in Bennington, Oklahoma on February 13, 1926, to Jim and Pearl (Hicks) King. She married Ralph S. Roberts, in Durant, in 1946. Moving to Lawton in 1947, they later moved to Fletcher in 1954. In 1971, the family moved to Oklahoma City, where Ralph died in September of 1979. A year later, in 1980, she married George F. Roberts, Jr., in Oklahoma City. George Died in 2003 and Marie moved to Greer County where she lived until her death. Preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; four brothers, Herman King, Jack King, Earl King and Gene King; one sister, Ruby Downs and one son, Jay Leary Roberts, Marie is survived by three children, Paul Smith and wife Kathy of Jacksonville, Florida, Loretta Livingston and husband Charles of Granite and Raymond Joe Roberts of Granite; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Marie Roberts will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at the Granite First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Tim McGough officiating. Interment will follow at Granite City Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Granite.
