Filey Lance Griffis, age 24, of Willow, passed away early Thursday morning, October 7, 2010, as the result of a motor vehicle accident northwest of Mangum.

Lance was born on June 16, 1986, in Elk City, Oklahoma to Kenneth Moss Griffis and Carrie (Parsons) Griffis. After attending Mangum School for twelve years, he graduated in 2005. For many years Lance farmed and ranched with his dad and granddad and for a short time worked in the oil field. A member of the Willow Volunteer Fire Department, Lance enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding four wheelers and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his fiancé, Sarah Bogart and their daughter, Callie Brooke Griffis of Willow; his mother, Carrie Griffis of Seminole, Oklahoma; his father, Kenneth Griffis of Willow; one sister, Anna Rogers and husband Rodney of Willow; one brother, Cody Griffis of Willow; grandparents, Morris and Era Thay Griffis of Willow, Tavia Wilson and husband Bill of Mangum and Larry Parsons and wife Kay of Seminole along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and many friends and a child on its way.

Funeral services for Lance Griffis will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 9, 2010, at the Mangum Church of Christ with Ken Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at the Brinkman Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.

The family will greet friends on Friday, October 8, 2010, from 6 until 7 p.m. at Greer Funeral Home in Mangum.
