Patricia Hager Fite, 80, a resident of Willow, Oklahoma, passed away November 7, 2019, at home.

Patricia was born to Thomas Earl Hager and Nellie Beatrice (Thomas) Hager in Mangum, Oklahoma. Patricia was raised on a Christmas tree and peanut farm five miles north of Willow. She graduated from Ocina High School in 1957 and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma. She married Theo Fite on August 30, 1957, at Willow United Methodist Church. Patricia taught third and fourth grades and was known as a dedicated, hardworking teacher who strived for excellence in the classroom. She taught thirteen years in Enid public schools and seventeen years in Sayer public schools before retiring in 1997.

Patricia enjoyed quilting, sewing, RVing, square dancing, baking, and working in ancestry, but her greatest enjoyment came from watching her grandsons play sports. She and Theo traveled all over the country to watch them play baseball and football. Patricia's chair was always right behind the home plate umpire so she could help him call balls and strikes, as well as give her opinion (in her teacher's voice) on the occasional close plays at the plate. She was affectionately known as GrandPat, a name she coined herself, by her grandsons, their teammates, and friends and family. Another passion was opening her home to strayed, abandoned, or injured cats. These fortunate felines found a friend and protector in Patricia. Patricia was a 22-year survivor of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma which was still in remission at her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas Earl Hager and Nellie Beatrice Hager.

She is survived by her husband; Theo Fite of the home, son; Thomas Fite and wife Sandra of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, grandsons; Joshua Fite of Altus, Oklahoma; Nicholas Fite of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. and sister in law; Virginia (Fite) Hellwege of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.

Her family will receive friends on Saturday, November 9, 2019, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Greer Funeral Home, 235 S Pennsylvania Ave, Mangum, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Willow United Methodist Church with Rev. Scott Northrip officiating.

Interment will follow at Brinkman Cemetery.

Memorials to honor Patricia may be made to the Brinkman Cemetery in care of C.A. Warren at 29089 NCR 1940, Willow Ok 73673.
