Teresa Lucille Brand of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Monday morning, March 15, 2010, in the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home in Blackwell at the age of 52 years.

Teresa was born on January 28, 1958, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Following the death of her mother she was placed in the Associated Catholic Charities Orphanage in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. At the age of seven she was adopted by James Haskell and Linda Lu (Yunker) Brand and she began attending Catholic School in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She later attended Middleburg School near Chickasha before attending Dibble Public Schools where her mother taught second grade. The later moved to Ninnekah, Oklahoma, where she continued her education before moving to Braman, Oklahoma, for her senior year. She graduated from Braman High School in 1977. She furthered her education by attending Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa, Oklahoma, where she received an associate in science degree.

Following her education she made Blackwell her home and worked as a waitress and as a secretary for Southwest Cupid Industries. She also worked in the deli at United Supermarkets in Blackwell and worked in home health care. She was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Blackwell and enjoyed crocheting.

She is survived by her parents, James Brand of Ninnekah, Oklahoma, and Linda Brand of Braman, Oklahoma; a son, Anthony Brand of Blackwell, Oklahoma; a brother, Andy Brand of California; and two sisters, Anna Jo Isaacs of Leonard, Texas, and Staff Sgt. Lorena Brand of Ft. Hood, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert and Martha Yunker and Haskell and Ohal Brand.

Prayer services held Wednesday, March 17th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral mass held Thursday, March 18th in the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Blackwell with Father Larok Martin officiating.
