Celebration of Life and Mass of Christian burial for Ruth (Gaume) Ronck, of Enid, will be 11 AM Monday, September 16, 2013, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Enid, Oklahoma. Rev. Rajesh K. Mankena will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Clyde, Oklahoma, under the direction of Brown – Cummings Funeral Home. A recitation of the Rosary will be 7 PM Sunday evening at Brown – Cummings Funeral Home Chapel, with family receiving visitors from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home.

Ruth passed away Thursday, September 12, 2013, in Enid. She was 91 years old.

Born September 3, 1922, two Lamy and Phoebe (Earnest) Gaume a, she was one of six children.

Ruth attended Catholic School in Danville for eight years, attending her first two years of high school in Harper, Kansas. In 1938, she moved with her parents to Anthony, Kansas, graduating from Anthony High School in 1940.

After high school, she was employed at the Harper County Court House in Anthony as Deputy Register of Deeds.

Ruth soon met her sweetheart, Norvel Ronck, at a dance in Anthony, Kansas, and the rest was history. They were united in marriage on September 25, 1948, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Anthony, Kansas. Their union was blessed with seven children, including two sets of twins. Being happily married for 65 years, they made their home in Wakita for 58 years before moving to Enid to The Commons Retirement Home.

Ruth was a faithful member of St. Mary's Assumption Catholic Church in Wakita. For many years, she helped with and taught religion classes. She was an active member of St. Ann's Altar Society, the Wakita Senior Citizens, and the C.R.O.W.N. Program.

When the Wakita Community Health Center opened in 1969, and with six of her seven children still at home, she became employed full-time as both a certified nurse aide amd medication aide. She worked at the Community Health Center for 18 years, and after retiring, continued to be one of their faithful volunteers. When she and Norvel retired, their children surprised them with a celebration and a much deserved trip to Hawaii.

Ruth was a devoted wife and mother, always setting the best examples for her children by her faith in God and love of her family. She was a very generous and giving person, always willing to help others.

She is survived by her husband, Norvel of 65 years; sons, Victor and wife Marci of Missoula, Montana, Duane of Oklahoma City, and David of Hustisford, Wisconsin; daughters Mary Lou Flanagan and husband Bill of Claremore, Rita Smith and husband Tom of Enid, Ronda Bell and husband Gary of Claremore, and Donna Bingham and husband Bill of Amarillo, Texas; grandchildren, Kristy Mitchell of Texoma, Kathy Scarpa of Edmond, Matthew Truitt of Owasso, Tiffany Fitzsimmons of Bartlesville, Leslie Engle of Amarillo, Texas, and Bryan Bingham of Stillwater; step grandchildren, Jeff Smith of Dallas Texas, Bo Flanagan of Silver Spring, Maryland, Gary Bell Junior of Bartlesville, and Robyn Harris of Claremore. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law Margaret Ronck of Wichita, Kansas, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lamy and Phoebe Gaume; sisters, Gertrude Davis, Gladys Wright, Sister Ann Cecile Gaume; and one brother, Ralph Gaume.

Ruth will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and relatives. Memorials may be made in Ruth's name to St. Mary's Assumption Catholic Church in Wakita or the Wakita Community Health Center.
