Rosemound Cemetery



The funeral for Mary Susanna Witt Sawyer, 71, of Medford, will be 10 a.m. Monday at First Christian Church, Medford. The Rev. Craig Van Deburgh will officiate. Burial will be in Rosemound Cemetery, Medford. Arrange-ments are by Hills-Ely Funeral Home, Medford.

She was born April 28, 1936, in Cleo Springs to Daniel B. and Sarah Young Carter and died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007, in Integris Bass Baptist Health Center, Enid.

She attended school in Cleo Springs. She married Perry F. Witt Feb. 15, 1954, in Jet. They operated the local movie theater and Medford Dry Cleaners. She worked at Smrcka’s Dairy Snack and was a seamstress for many years. She worked at Grant County Bank in Medford and retired in April 1999. She married Donald M. Sawyer in 1994. She was a member of First Christian Church in Medford, Order of Eastern Star, Medford and Blackwell. She was active in Medford Order of Rainbow for girls where she was mother advisor.

Surviving are one daughter, Cheryl Ann Witt of Rocky Mount, N.C.; one son, Steve Witt of Braman; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Sawyer, one son, two brothers and two great-granddaughters.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to First Christian Church of Medford memorial fund.
