The funeral for Lee Schmitz, 93, of Medford, will be 2 p.m. Satur-day, March 28, 2009, at First Christian Church, Medford. The Rev. Craig VanDeburgh will officiate. Burial will be in Rosemound Cemetery, Medford. Arrangements are by Hills-Ely Funeral Home, Medford.
He was born July 26, 1915, in Medford to Henry William and Izah Maddy Schmitz and died Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at Servant Living Center, Medford.
He graduated from Medford High School in 1933, then attended a trade school in Los Angeles for two years.
He married Opal V. Waymire Dec. 10, 1939. She died March 7, 2000.
He was a farmer, custom harvester and owned and operated a service station and tire shop. He also owned a Gleaner parts store. They moved from the farm into Medford in 1970.
Surviving are one daughter, Judith Frymire of Fort Worth, Texas; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Opal, he was preceded in death by one brother.
