He attended Oklahoma State University in Okmulgee, and earned a diesel engineering degree in 1963. He married Janice Maxine Dahlem, July 26, 1963. They were childhood sweethearts and enjoyed 53 years of marriage together. They had two children, a son, Todd Meritt, Fort Worth, Texas; and a daughter, Michelle Meritt, Edmond. Larry loved his family. He was a skilled, hard worker who showed his love by providing a good life for his family.

Larry’s unexpected passing will leave an unfillable void. He was a loving husband, daddy and papa. Our world is forever changed because of him. His strong faith reassures us of where he is, and the promise that we will one day join him.

The funeral service is 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, at the Jefferson United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Michelle McCartney officiating; interment will follow in Rosemound Cemetery, Medford. A graveside military ceremony will be conducted by the U.S. Army Honor Guard.
