Rosemound Cemetery


The funeral for Julie Doreen Hodges, 40, of Blackwell, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008, at First United Methodist Church, Blackwell. The Rev. Larry Adkisson will officiate. Burial will be in Rosemound Cemetery, Medford.

She was born March 23, 1968, in Enid to Kenneth Neil and Betty Arline Lively Hodges and died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008, at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital, Wichita, Kan.

She graduated from Blackwell High School in 1986. She then began building and operating cable companies in various states with her companion, Greg Deffner. They returned to Blackwell in July 1997 and began Get Real Cable. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her mother, Betty Hodges of Medford, her companion, Greg Deffner of Blackwell; three sons, Benjamin, Jacob and Patrick Deffner, all of Blackwell; one brother, Troy Hodges of Medford.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Kidney Foundation.
