ENID — Funeral service for Bill Fowler, 84, of Enid, formerly of Medford, will be 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, at North Garland Church of Christ, Enid. Burial will follow in Rosemound Cemetery, Medford, with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Medford. Viewing 2-6 p.m. today with the family present from 5-6 at the funeral home. Bill was born Dec. 1, 1926, in Iowa Park, Texas, to Roy Fowler and Neomi Blalock Fowler and passed from this life on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at Integris Northwest Specialty Hospital, Enid.

After school Bill served for a time in the Merchant Marine.

He married Nelda Leach Dec. 12, 1947, in Electra, Texas, having three daughters, Carolyn, Marilyn and Nancy. They were happily married for over 63 years.

Bill and Nelda moved from the Oklahoma City area, living in Medford for 50 years.

Bill and several other men were instrumental in opening the Conoco Plant in Medford in 1961. He worked for Conoco as a plant foreman, retiring in 1986. He was a member of Medford and Enid Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Nelda of Enid; three daughters, Carolyn Reith of Enid, Marilyn Hasler and husband Al of Milan, Mich., and Nancy Williams of Medford; five grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Those who preceded Bill in death include his parents; one brother, Thelbert Fowler; and two sisters, Faye Morris and Marguerite Ficklin.

Memorials may be given to Medford Church of Christ through the funeral home.

MEDFORD, Okla. Funeral service for Nelda will be Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at 10 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Medford. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc., of Medford. Viewing will be Monday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., with the family present from 5 until 6 p.m. www.lanmanmemorials.com Nelda was born on November 25, 1928, in Iowa Park, Texas, to Buford Ferris Leach and Mary Elizabeth Ray Leach and passed from this life on September 8, 2016 in Enid.

After high school, Nelda married Billy Fowler on December 12, 1947, in Electra, Texas. To this union, three children were born: Carolyn, Marilyn and Nancy.

Nelda had lived in the Medford area over fifty years. She was a member of the Medford Church of Christ and North Garland Church of Christ in Enid and a member of the Mothers Club. Nelda loved crocheting, and her grandchildren all received a crocheted Christmas stocking from her. Nelda's other pastimes included playing canasta and walking with friends. She was a very loving person with a contagious personality. Nelda was a little lady with a great big heart who was always thinking of others.

Those who preceded Nelda in death include her husband, Bill; her parents, Buford and Mary Leach; brothers, H.C. Leach and Hoyt Leach; sisters, Mary Beth Leach, Vivian McKelvey, and Margaret Johnson.

Survivors include three children, Carolyn Reith of Enid, Marilyn Hasler and husband Al of Milan, Michigan, and Nancy Williams of Medford; five grandchildren, Mary Downing and husband Kevin of Medford, David Reneau and wife Amy of Bixby, Megan Conrady and husband Corey of Enid, Melissa Hasler of Milan, Michigan, and Sarah Fetterolf and husband Ian of Milan, Michigan; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Memorials may be given to Medford Church of Christ through the funeral home.
