Lamont Cemetery


July 15, 1924 - January 13, 2019

Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2019, at the United Methodist Church at Lamont, with the Rev. James Riggs officiating. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek.

Ola Mae Danford Stockwell was born July 15, 1924, in Lamont, OK, to Wayne and Rachel Danford and went to be with her Lord January 13, 2019.

After graduation from Lamont High School in 1942, she worked as secretary in her father's business, Danford Construction Co. of Lamont and Garden City, KS. She also worked for the State Exchange Bank. Ola Mae was an antique dealer beginning in 1980 in Ponca City, later in Tonkawa, Ardmore, Ark City, Oklahoma City and then in Enid.

She was an active member of the United Methodist Church from youth until failing health. She and Bill Stockwell were married January 31, 1948.

She and Bill were blessed with a daughter, Gaylene Tait of Copperas Cove, TX; a son, Jack Stockwell and wife Paula of Lamont; and a chosen son, Jimmy Lanning and wife Michelle, of Lamont; 12 grandchildren, Christopher, Shane and Nathan Tait, Joshua (wife Hilda) Stockwell, Rachel Pientka (husband Andy) and Jacob Stockwell, Jordan, Parker, Dalton and Carrigan Lanning.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; parents, Wayne and Rachel Danford; brother, Jack Danford; and grandson, Parker Lanning.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation at Wilson Funeral Home or State Exchange Bank, Lamont.
