ENID, Okla. — Dorthea (Landis) Shuyler, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 20, 2014. Dorthea was born Aug. 3, 1926, to Fred and Christena Landis on a farm 11?2 miles north of Lamont.

She attended school in Lamont and than married Earl Lowell Shuyler and moved to Biloxi, Miss.

She and her husband, who was in the Air Force, moved several times including Savanna, Ga., Perryton, Texas, and settled in Wichita, Kan. During their travels, they had two sons, Lowell and Larry.

While in Wichita, she worked at Cessna Aircraft as a crew chief in the wiring division.

After Wichita she moved to Lamont, Okla., and later lived in Garber and Medford, Okla.

At the time of her death, she lived at Enid Senior Care in Enid, Okla.

Dorthea was a loyal member of the Assembly of God in Lamont.

Dorthea was preceded in death by her mother and father, four sisters, three brothers and one son, Larry Shuyler.

She is survived by one son, Lowel Shuyer of Lamont; one brother, Bob Landis and wife Joyce of Lamont; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2014, in Lamont Cemetery, with the Rev. John Newland officiating. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Prairie View Assembly of God Church, Lamont.
