Lamont Cemetery



The funeral for Betty Lou Prilliman, 74, of Lamont, will be 2 p.m. today at United Methodist Church, Lamont. Pastor Vera Walton will officiate. Burial will be in Lamont Cemetery. Arrangements are by Tonkawa Funeral Home, Tonkawa.

She was born April 6, 1935, in Pond Creek to Kenneth and Myrtle Maxey Whitehead and died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. She attended Pleasant Ridge District 77 rural elementary school and graduated from Lamont High School in 1953. She attended two years at Northern Oklahoma College, Tonkawa, where she recieved an associate’s degree. She was a member of Lamont Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She married Joseph “Joe” Prilliman April 4, 1953, in Lamont. They moved to Long Beach, Calif., in 1960. She worked as a seamstress at the Stretch and Sew Fabric Shop. They returned to Lamont in 1988.

Surviving are her husband, Joe; two sons, Jeff D. Prilliman of Breaux Bridge, La., and Frank L. Prilliman of Lamont; one brother, Dale Whitehead of Kansas City, Mo.; one sister, Sybil Webster of Lamont; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home, 400 E. Grand Ave., Tonkawa, OK 74653, to Lamont United Methodist Church.
