Lamont Cemetery


October 13, 1871 - June 20, 1939

Rites Thursday for Post, Grant Pioneer

Lamont, June 21 – Funeral services for James Post, 69, pioneer resident of Grant County who died at an Anthony hospital Tuesday, June 20, 1939 will be held in the Christian church here Thursday, at 10 AM with Rev. Ray Elswick, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in the Lamont Cemetery, under the direction of the Pishney funeral home.

Mr. Post's death was caused by bronchial pneumonia. He was taken to the hospital a few hours before he passed away.

He settled on a farm six miles west of Lamont at the opening of the Cherokee Strip, where he lived until his death.

Mr. Post was unmarried and has no known relatives.
