Lamont Cemetery


The funeral for Richard L. Misak, 69, of Lamont, will be 11 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Lamont. The Revs. Kevin Watson and Steve Hamm will officiate. Burial will be in Lamont Cemetery. Arrange-ments are by Hills-Ely Funeral Home, Medford. The casket will remain closed at all times.

He was born Aug. 26, 1936, in Anthony, Kan., to Felix Otto and Avis Arjean Davenport Misak and died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2005, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center, after a battle with cancer.

He was raised in the Lamont area, graduating from Lamont High School.

He was an insurance agent for Hartford and USFNG and in March 1985 went to work for State Exchange Bank of Lamont, retiring in August 2001.

He also drove a bus for the Deer Creek-Lamont High School. He was a member of the Air National Guard Reserves and the Lamont Lions Club.

Surviving are one daughter, Julie Misak Williamson of Dallas; two sons, Kevin Lane Misak of Dallas and Cory Michael Misak of Lamont; his mother, Arjean Lake of Ponca City; his stepmother, Effie Misak of Medford; one brother, Charles L. Misak of Medford; a sister, Charlene Falke of Texas; and one grandson.

He was preceded in death by one sister.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Deer Creek-Lamont High School Richard Misak Memorial Fund, the Northwest Oklahoma Blood Institute or the Lamont Lions Club.
