Lola Mae Dougherty of Tonkawa, Oklahoma, died late Wednesday evening, July 30, 2014, in the Willow Haven Nursing Home at the age of 85 years.

Lola Mae Dougherty was born on December 1, 1928, in Lamont, Oklahoma, to William Thomas and Myrtle S. (Woodrow) Dougherty. She grew up in the Lamont, Blackwell and Tonkawa area. She worked at various restaurants and as a home health caregiver. She was a member of Christian Life Church in Tonkawa. She enjoyed visiting with her many friends whom she affectionately called her “partners.”

She is survived by a sister, Bonnie Day and husband Dean of Harper, Kansas; several nieces and nephews; and her church and Willow Haven families.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, John White; and a sister, Rosa Bell Elliott.

Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 2nd in the Lamont Cemetery with Dr. Ron Walcher officiating.

The Lola Mae Dougherty Memorial at Christian Life Church has been established in her honor in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74361.
