Lamont Cemetery


The funeral for Fred J. Dodds, 57, of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Grace Bible Church. Pastors Bob Perkins and Steve McClaren will officiate. Burial will be in Lamont Cemetery. Arrange-ments are by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.

He was born June 1, 1950, in Ponca City to B.J. and Betty Wil-liams Dodds and died Sun-day, Oct. 21, 2007, at his home.

He attended school in Ponca City and graduated from Enid High School in 1968. After graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War. Following his discharge, he lived in Wichita, Kan., driving a truck and later worked at McConnell Air Force Base. He returned to Enid in the late 1970s and attended Oklahoma State University.

He married Jill Perkins June 30, 1989, in Stillwater. They made their home in Enid where he worked as a machinist and programmer for Central Machine & Tool Co. He was a member of Grace Bible Church and American Legion.

Surviving are his wife, Jill, of the home; his mother Betty Allen; one sister, Jo Ann Loucks; and one brother, Tracy Dodds, all of Enid; his children, Sally Grimes and April Guffey, both of Enid, Kevin Spears of Hogden, Kelly Buchanan of Stillwater and Sherrie Sweet of Claremore; and 21 grand children.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Memorials may be made in his name to the funeral home.
