Hawley Cemetery


Wakita – Everett L. George, 68, died early Sunday in a Wakita hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born may 13, 1904 in Manchester. He was a lifetime resident of that area where he farmed. A member of Manchester United Methodist Church. on September 9, 1928 he married Gail Tharp at Ponca Creek. Preceded in death by a wife, one daughter, three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Ereil Wayne, Wakita, and Lyle Everett, Davis; two daughters, Mrs. Clinton (Verla) Hayes, Tulsa, and Mrs. Speed (Leah Kay) Elliott, III, Wakita; one brother, James, of Tonkawa; three sisters, Mrs. Clint Finus, Medford, Mrs. Lon Williams, Hazelton, Kansas, and Mrs. Clifford Ryan, Anthony, Kansas, and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2:30 PM in the Wakita Methodist Church with Rev. Glenn Millard officiating. Interment will be in the Hawley Cemetery under direction of Thomas Funeral Home, Wakita.

The family has suggested that donations be made to the Wakita Community Health Center with the funeral home acting as custodians of the fund.
