Hawley Cemetery


The funeral services for Gaylord E. Arnold, 73 year-old Enid resident will be Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 1:00PM in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Harold Hatt will officiate. Pastors Thelma Chambers-Young and Jerry Galbreath will assist. Burial will follow in Hawley Cemetery north of Nash. He was born November 29, 1937 in Ringwood, Oklahoma to Harold and Iva (Knapp) Arnold and died Tuesday, December 7, 2010 in Clinton, Oklahoma. He attended local schools and enlisted in the United States Air Force in December of 1954. He served two tours of Duty in Viet Nam (Inchon the first tour), and was an air craft mechanic, flight navigator, and quality control officer. He retired as a Master Sergeant

On June 1, 1960, he married Laurel Reeder. The couple was stationed all over the world, including; San Antonio, Wichita Falls, Tacoma, Washington, North Africa and Altus. He was a long-time member of University Christian Church. He was an avid photographer and did freelance work for Wes Gray Studios and developed Black and White Film for Moto-Photo. He enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle.

Surviving are his wife Laurel, of the home; daughters, Robin (Arnold) Parrish and husband, Matt of Enid; Stacy (Arnold) Hutchison and husband, Bob of Nevada, MO.; Sheen Arnold of Springfield, MO; DeeDee (Arnold) Nolan and husband, Jim of Jacksonville, FL; and Erin Arnold of Oklahoma City; 6 grandchildren, Cassie, Joshua, Gracie, Paige, Caroline and Patrick; 3 step-grandchildren, Emily, Eli, and Evan; adopted daughter, Cat Wolfe; one brother, Kenneth Arnold and wife; Jody of Corpus Christi, TX as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Gene and infant sister Betty Ann.
