Hawley Cemetery


Mooreland – The funeral for Sophia M. Albright, 90, who died Saturday at a Woodward hospital, will be at 2 PM Tuesday at Bethel – Hawley Baptist Church in Hawley. The Rev. Larry Ensmings, pastor of Mooreland First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Hawley Cemetery directed by Billings Funeral Home.

Sophia May Brown was born August 12, 1897, in Indian Territory near Hawley. In 1917, she married Merle Albright. They lived northwest of Hawley, where she was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethel – Hawley Baptist Church and a home demonstration club. The past 15 months, she had lived at the Golden Age Nursing Center in Mooreland.

Survivors include a son, Buford of Mooreland; a daughter, Lavonne Briles of Thornton, Colorado; three grandchildren; and three great – grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle, two brothers and a sister.
