Kent Yeargin

Funeral services for Kent L. Yeargin, 78, of Chickasha were held on Wednesday, March 21, 2007, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Mark Foster officiating.

Kent Yeargin was born October 23, 1928, in Haworth, Oklahoma, the son of Aline Yeargin. He died March 19, 2007, in Oklahoma City.

Kent moved to Idabel, Oklahoma as a young boy. He attended Idabel Public Schools and graduated from Idabel High School.

After high school he went to work for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. Through the years he built a prosperous career with ODOT. Upon his retirement, after 36 years of service, he was working as a Personnel Manager.

On April 4, 1947, Kent married the love of his life, Lona [McCown] Yeargin. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary next month.

Kent and Lona came to Chickasha in April of 2004, to be closer to their daughter.

Kent enjoyed doing volunteer work, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Jeff Yeargin.

Survivors include his wife, Lona, of the home; son and daughter-in-law: Ken and Carolyn Yeargin, of Bixby, Oklahoma; daughter and son-in-law: Jackie and Tom Frailey, of Chickasha; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Interment was in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home..
