Rachel Wray

Funeral service for Rachel Pearl Wray, 89, of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 3, 2007 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home.

Reverend Tom Willoughby, Associate Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Lawton, will be officiating.

Rachel Pearl Wray was born September 30, 1917 in Fort Madison, Iowa the daughter of Johnny and Helen [Arnold] Marsh and died Thursday, March 29, 2007 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Rachel was a WAC in the U.S. Army Air Corp and served at Wright Field in Dayton, Ohio during World War II. She also served as an Air Traffic Controller.

She owned and operated Lawton Flowers and Gifts for many years and later worked at the ComancheCounty Assessor's office where she retired. In 2005 she moved to Chickasha.

Rachel was a member of the First Baptist Church of Verden. She was preceded in death by: Parents; two brothers.

Survivors include: three sons: Lester Wray III of Krebs, Oklahoma; Lawrence Wray and wife Jini of San Jose, California; Johnny Wray and wife Laura of Chickasha; one sister: Evelyn Graham of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Grandchildren: Crysta Wray, Bridger Wray, Kelsey Wray, Brent Wray, Matthew Wray, Lauren Rachel Wray, and Bethany Wray.

Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
