Turner Funeral Set Tomorrow

Funeral services for Thad J. Turner, 78, Route 2, are to be conducted at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon in the chapel og the Chickasha Funeral Home by Rev George R. Davis, pastor of the First Christian Church.

Internment will be at the Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mr Turner died about 4:30 o’clock this morning at his home, having been in failing health for the past six weeks.

Born December 6, 1864, at Mount Vernon, Texas, he lived at Gainesville, Texas, become coming to Chickasha about 30 years ago.

He had farmed most of his life.

Mr Turner was a member of the Christian Church.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Mrs Cary Turner, and a sister-in-law, Mrs Mattie Mae Turner.

Mary Ellen [Williams] Turner
September 23, 1912 ~ July 17, 2005


Funeral services for Mary Ellen Turner, 92, of Chickasha, will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at 10:30 a.m., at the Calvary Baptist Church, with Ron Caudill and Chris Brunner officiating.

Mary Ellen Turner was born September 23, 1912, in Fitzhugh, Oklahoma, the daughter of Henry Solomon Williams and Cora Allie Fox Williams. She died Sunday, July 17, 2005 in Chickasha.

Mary Ellen grew up in Fitzhugh, Oklahoma and Lela, Texas. She attended high school in Roff, Oklahoma.

Mary Ellen met Dee Crowder during her junior year of high school at a barn dance in Roff, Oklahoma. They were married on December 26, 1930. They started their family in March of 1933. She and Dee farmed in Roff, Oklahoma. In 1962 they came to Chickasha, and made many lifelong friends over the years.

Her husband Dee preceded her in death in February of 1972.

She later met and married William Turner in 1978.

Mary Ellen was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by both husbands; two sons: Dee Ford Crowder, Jr., and Ted W. Crowder; and one daughter, Maryann Cline.

She is survived by two daughters-in-law; Sandra Crowder and Alma Crowder; 10 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and 9 great great grandchildren.

Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
