Eldridge Eugene "Eldred" Trent
February 28, 1918 ~ December 16, 2006


Funeral services for Eldred Trent, 88, of Chickasha will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 21, 2006, in the Grand Assembly of God Church.

Eldred Trent was born February 28, 1918, in Hammon, Oklahoma, the son of Benjamin and Johnnie [Guinn] Trent. He died December 16, 2006, in Chickasha.

He attended schools in the Pie Flat/Hammon area.

Eldred joined the Army in 1944 and became a Medic in WW II. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium and the Normandy Invasion. He received many honors and medals for heroic action; among them were the Purple Heart, Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart with Cluster, Good Conduct, and Expert Marksmanship.

Returning to Oklahoma after the war, he and his wife Oletta [Maltby] Trent settled in Chickasha. He managed and eventually owned the Sav Mor Gas Station.

Oletta died in 1977. Eldred then reunited with a childhood friend, Virgie [Kovar] Bryan. They married May 19, 1978.

He was a longtime member of the Assembly of God Church, serving as Deacon for 18 years.

He loved to travel and had done so extensively in the U.S., Canada, and abroad. He was an avid and expert skier and ski instructor for many years. He enjoyed raising a garden, working in his yard and volunteering at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Eldred was preceded in death by both parents; first wife, Oletta; sister, Deema Hunt; and a daughter, Glenda Kay.

Survivors include his wife Virgie; son and daughter-in-law; Maxine and Skip Frazier, B. Gretchen Bryan, and Jo Marilyn Trent; seven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

Jo Marilyn Trent
December 30, 1949 ~ April 27, 2020


Graveside services for Jo Marilyn Trent, 70, of Tulsa will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Jo Marilyn Trent was born December 30, 1949 in Chickasha, the daughter of Eldred Eugene Trent and Oletta America [Maltby] Trent. She died Monday, April 27, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Jo Marilyn had lived at the Oklahoma State Resource Center of Pauls Valley most of her life.

She was a happy person who always had a big smile for everyone. She loved ice cream, M&M’s, puppies and stuffed animals.

She was preceded in death by a sister Glenda Kay, her mother Oletta, her father Eldred, step-mom Virgie M. [Bryan] Trent and step-sister Maxine [Bryan] Frazier.

Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
