Willis Taylor Jr. was born November 22, 1933, in Chickasha. He died May 18, 2007, in Chickasha.

Funeral services for Willis Lee Taylor, Jr., 73, of Chickasha will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, May 24, 2007, in the Mount Olive Baptist Church.

Willis Lee Taylor Jr. was born November 22, 1933, in Chickasha , the son of Willie and Willie Lee [Smith] Taylor. He died Friday, May 18, 2007, at his home in Chickasha.

He grew up in Chickasha and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1954.

He was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he served overseas for 1 year, 5 months, and 7 days. He was "Honorably" discharged on June 14, 1956.

He came back to Chickasha and went to work for Ross Seed & Grain for a brief time before going to work for the railroad. He had worked for Rock Island Railroad, Frisco Railroad, where he became the first Black Road Master, and later Burlington Northern Railroad, from which he retired on October 18, 1990.

Willis was an avid and dedicated "Goodwill" shopper, he enjoyed going to Wal-Mart on Friday mornings for the drawings and he loved going to the High School football games.

Willis was preceded in death by both parents; three brothers; and two sisters.

He is survived by three sons: Reginald Bernard Taylor, Sheldon L. Taylor, and Chad M. Taylor; two daughters: Mary Stephenson and Laniasha Taylor; three brothers: Shed Taylor, Harvey Taylor, and Lovell Taylor; two sisters: Sammie Lee Andrews and Norliasha Owens; numerous grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
