Anita Jeanette [Alix] Santos

Funeral service for Anita Jeanette Santos, age 72, of Chickasha will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday February 7, 2006 in the chapel of Sevier Funeral Home.

Anita Jeanette Santos was born April 10, 1933 in Fall River, Massachusetts. She died Friday February 3, 2006 in Chickasha.

She was the daughter of Alfred F. and Bernadette [Derosiers] Alix.

She and Joe Santos were married June 25, 1953, he preceded her in death.

Anita spent 21 years as an Air Force wife, once stationed in London, England with her husband and children. They were also stationed in different parts of the United States.

She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church.

She worked in several nursing homes in Chickasha as a Certified Nurses Aid and as a Medication Aid.

While living in Colorado Springs, Colorado she worked in housekeeping at the Broadmoor Hotel and had the pleasure of meeting Lucille Ball and Johnny Cash. She enjoyed spending time at the lake with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, especially when she went back home to Massachusetts for her #1 delicacy "Coney Island Hot Dogs." She loved and enjoyed clam boils, lobster and Portuguese food. She loved animals and had many of them throughout her life, especially Willie, Mugsy and Gizmo.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and one great grandson, Alexander Luther.

Survivors include: three daughters and their husbands: Debbie Doshier and Ed of Pioneer; Denise Rodgers and Paul of Amber; Doreen Isom and Alan of Chickasha; one son, David Santos of Chickasha; one sister: Barbara Thompson of Laurenceburg, Kentucky; 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; long time friends Charles and Margurite Flanagan and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Chickasha, Oklahoma under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
