Rev. Edward Kenneth Romines

Rev. Edward Kenneth Romines a resident of Edmond, Ok passed away on December 6, 2008 in Oklahoma City, Ok at the age of 79. Born April 28, 1929 in Silverton, TX to Wallace and Myrtle (Wood) Romines. Kenneth served with the US Army during the Korean War. He married Lois Mead on August 20, 1951 in Anadarko, OK. His parents, wife Lois and Sister Bernice Lang and Brother Donald Romines preceded him in death.

He is survived by his children: Brenda Stover of Edmond, Kenny Romines of Oklahoma City, Patty Todd of Moore, Ok, Annette Meyer of Edmond, OK. 8 grandchildren, 8 adopted grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. Brothers: Larry Romines of Oklahoma City, Jack Romines of San Antonio, TX, step brother Bobbie Simonds of Oklahoma City and a sister Loretta Williams of Rush Springs, OK.

Kenneth graduated high school in Cement, Ok in 1948, received his Bachelor of Art's from OBU in 1963 and Seminary at the Southern Seminary in 1971. Kenneth became a Christian at Tabler, Ok at the age of 9. He joined the Ninnekah Baptist Church at the age of 17. Ordained to the Gospel Ministry on February 14, 1955 by the Michigan Avenue Baptist Church in Chickasha, OK.

He started work at Convair Aircraft, Forth Worth, TX then went to work for BF Goodrich. He then pastored Kechi Baptist Church then Fourth St Mission (Chickasha First), Cromwell Baptist Church while attending OBU. He then served Shiloh Baptist in Muskogee, First Baptist in Henryetta, Parma Baptist in Parma, OH, Rolling Hills Baptist Church in Fairfield, OH, Hillcrest Baptist in Amarillo, TX, Calvary Baptist in Borger, TX, Southern Baptist Church, Rush Springs, OK, Sales & Supervision- Sooner Casing Crews out of Oklahoma City, Calvary Baptist Church in Okmulgee, Ok, Director of Missions- North Canadian Association, First Baptist Church, Blackwell, OK, Carson Baptist, Vamossa Baptist, and Lindsey Calvary Baptist.

Kenneth served in every elected position on the Associated Level, served on the board of Directors of the B.G.C.O., Director of Missions at the North Canadian Baptist Association, Executive Committee of the S.B.C and the Board of Directors of the State Convention of Baptist in Ohio. Kenneth preached 100 revivals in 5 states as well as a Mission and Evangelism Revival in Taiwan in 1977. He also lead the building programs for the following churches, Cromwell Baptist Church, Cromwell, OK, Shiloh Baptist Church in Muskogee, First Baptist Church in Henryetta, Parma Baptist Church in Parma, OH, Rolling Hills Baptist Church in Fairfield,OH, Calvary Baptist Church in Okmulgee, First Baptist Church in Blackwell, Ok, and was in the Who's Who in Religion Book.

Services will be 2:00pm, Friday, December 12, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Henryetta with Rev. Ron Crews and Rev. Bill Blair officiating. Interment will follow at 11:00 Saturday, December 13, 2008 at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Chickasha, Ok under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home. Memorial can be made to the Baptist Children's Home.
