© The Chickasha Express-Star 14 February 2005 Ann [Orahood] Platel Ann Orahood Platel deceased January 28, 2005. Ann was born July 10, 1914 near Chickasha, OK to Charles D. and Maud Orahood. Ann graduated from the Chickasha High School and later moved to Chicago, IL where she worked for a number of years. She met and married Arnold Platel. They moved to Oklahoma City where she was employed with Kamps Grocery Store, 25th and Classen until she retired. She has lived with her son in Chula Vista, Ca. for the past few years. Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Platel; her parents, Charles D. and Maud Orahood; sister, Marguerite Smith Ivey; brother, Charles D. Orahood, Jr. She is survived by her son James Platel and wife Caryn and grandson Arthur; a brother James A. Orahood, Okla. City, Ok; a number of nieces and nephews. She was a caring person who never wanted to inconvenience anyone. She loved to read and while living in Chicago she enjoyed the Big Band era!!! Her ashes will be returned at a later date for burial at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Chickasha, OK. |
