Funeral service for Charley R. "Pete" Norris, age 90, of Chickasha is pending with McRay Funeral Home.

Charley R. "Pete" Norris was born on November 23, 1914. He died on October 16, 2005, at his home southwest of Chickasha.

Charley R. "Pete" Norris

Funeral service for Charley R. "Pete" Norris, age 90 of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2005, in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Kenyon Bush will officiate.

Charley R. "Pete" Norris was born the son of Ray Kenneth Norris and Maggie Clay Fisher Norris on November 23, 1914, in Verden, Oklahoma. He died on October 16, 2005, at his residence southwest of Chickasha.

Pete graduated from Minco High School in 1933.

He entered the United States Air Force during World War II.

On April 14, 1941, he married Leona Casey in Chickasha.

Pete worked for John Deere Implement as a mechanic and later worked for Arkla Gas Company retiring at the age of 62.

He was a member of the Laverty Baptist Church. Pete was also a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars and the Elk Lodge 2151 in Chickasha. Pete was preceded in death by his parents, baby sister, Geneva Norris, and brother Godfrey "Frog" Norris.

Survivors include: Wife of 64 years: Leona Norris of the home; Son & Daughter-in-law: John Ray & Elizabeth Norris of Round Rock, Texas; Granddaughter: Johnetta Rae Norris of Austin, Texas; Grandson: Jack DeWayne Norris of Chickasha; Grandson: John Raymond Norris of Round Rock, Texas; Grandson: Jason Rene Norris of Round Rock, Texas; Sister-in-law Ruth Norris Vidrine of Washington, Louisiana; Nephew & Spouse: Mike & Jan Norris of Washington Louisiana.

Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice of the Laverty Buildng Fund.
