Dewey D. Meade

Funeral service for Dewey D. Meade, 78, 1109 South Ninth, will be at 10:30 am Saturday in the chapel of Brown's Funeral Home with Jim Sheerer, of Central Church of Christ, officiating, assisted by Rev. David Parker Jr., minister of Epworth United Methodist Church.

Mr. Meade was born Oct. 21, 1898 in Pecan Gap, Texas. He died Thursday in the Chickasha Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

He and Mary Leita Finley were married Feb. 10, 1924 in Hugo, Okla. They moved to Chickasha in 1925. Mr. Meade was employed for 46 years by the Dixie Store. He was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church and a past president of Chickasha Lions Club.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Leita, of the home; one niece, Mrs. Ernie (Mary Charlotte) Shaffer of Little Rock, Ark.; and one nephew, Ferris M. Gay of Dallas, Tex.

The members of the Men's Bible Class of Epworth United Methodist, Dixie Store employees and the members of the Chickasha Lions Club will be seated as honorary groups.

Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
