Funeral service for Blanche McCormick, age 90, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, is pending with the McRay Funeral Home. Blanche McCormick was born on Oct. 8, 1915 in Chickasha. She died on Oct. 27, 2005, in Chickasha.

Funeral service for Blanche McCormick, age 90, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2005, in the Epworth United Methodist Church.

Blanche McCormick was born on October 8, 1915, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Frank Bailey and Hope Hewett Bailey. She died on October 27, 2005, in Chickasha.

Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.

Blanche McCormick

Funeral service for Blanche McCormick, age 90 of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2005, in the Epworth United Methodist Church. Rev. Kim Domnick will officiate and Rev. Donald Horton will assist.

Blanche McCormick was born on October 8,1915, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Judge Frank M. Bailey and Hope Hewett Bailey. She died on October 27, 2005, in Chickasha.

Blanche graduated from Chickasha High School in 1933. After graduation she attended Oklahoma College for Women. Blanche married Carl W. McCormick on August 25, 1935, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They lived in Kansas City, Missouri, Herington, Kansas, and Oklahoma City before returning to Chickasha in 1942. After her husband returned from serving in the United States Navy during World War II, they purchased the Owl Drug Store. They operated the Owl Drug Store until 1959. At this time, they opened the Clinic Pharmacy next to the Chickasha Clinic (now Southern Plains Medical Center). Blanche served on various church committees. She was past president of Junior Social Workers, the Home Culture Club, and the Chickasha Girl Scout Council. After retirement, Blanche continued her involvement in the community and her church. She also liked having more time for her several bridge and canasta groups. She enjoyed many family gatherings and especially her close relationships with her three sisters and brother. In addition Blanche loved to travel to visit family and to experience interesting places.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, William Bailey, two sisters, Elizabeth Caudle and Frances Blazer, and her husband, Carl McCormick, in 1981.

Survivors include: son & wife: Bill McCormick & Nancy of State College, Pennsylvania; daughter & husband: Betty Dysart & Jim of Centennial, Colorado; daughter: Mary Catherine "Ceci" Taylor of Oklahoma City; sister: Mary Bailey of Chickasha; grandson & wife: Mark McCormick & Marie of Echallens, Switzerland; great granddaughter: Amelia McCormick of Echallens, Switzerland; grandson: John McCormick of Portland, Oregon; grandson & wife: Bill Dysart & Joy of Castle Rock, Colorado; great grandson: Jacob Dysart of Castle Rock, Colorado; grandson & wife: David Dysart and Karen of Austin, Texas; great grandchildren: Alyse & Alex Dysart of Austin, Texas; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Epworth United Methodist Church or the Chickasha Public Library. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.mcrayfuneral.com.
