Amos Harvey Hollowell
October 22, 1852 ~ April 6, 1915


Passing of Another Pioneer is Morned

Amos Harvey Hollowell was born at Bloomingdale, Ind October 22, 1852; died at Chickasha, Okla April 6, 1915.

At the age of fourteen he moved to Hesper, Kan with his parents, brothers and sister.

In 1875 he came to the Indian Territory and worked at the agency located near where Anadarko now stands.

On January 1, 1876 he was married to Celia Woodard, who died October 6, 1877.

On October 6, 1897 he was married to Emma L. Woodard at Hesper, Kan.

Mr. Hollowell was a birthright member of the Friends church, having been converted at the age of sixteen.

He was a man of sterling quality. He made many friends and had the happy faculty of maintaining them, He was kind hearted and always thoughtful of the contort of others, forgetting himself.

The deceased leaves a wife and one son, Joseph W. Hollowell, who were with him, and three brothers, Miles, Robert and Chas Hollowell, al of Danville, Ind.

The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 at his home, on Twentieth and Iowa.

Internment occurred in I.O.O.F. cemetery.
