Carol [Askew] Harrell

CHICKASHA, Okla. - Carol Askew Harrell, 77, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Epworth United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Jacobson and the Rev. John Hauser officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery by Brown-Binyon Funeral Home.

Mrs. Harrell was born in Amarillo where she graduated from Amarillo High School in 1938. In 1942, she received a bachelor of business administration from the University of Texas.

She married John W. Kayser in 1943. He was killed in action in 1944 in World War II.

In 1948, she married C.W. "Dub" Harrell at Amarillo.

From 1948 until 1954, they owned and operated Palace Gift and Sundries. He died in 1991.

Mrs. Harrell was an active member of Chapter CR of PEO, Fortnighters and Canasta Club. She was a former member of Junior Social Workers, Home Culture and the Philo Mathis Clubs. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church where she served as secretary.

Survivors include two daughters, Carole Ann Erwin of Dallas and Barbara Harrell of Chickasha; a son, Bill Harrell of Norman; two brothers, W.W. "Bill" Askew Jr., and M.L. "Mid" Askew, both of Amarillo; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The family suggests memorials be to PEO Chapter CR Cottey College Fund, c/o Ann Erwin, 115 Caulder Dr., Chickasha, OK 73018.
