Vertie Mae Duncan

Funeral service for Vertie Mae Duncan, 88, of Chickasha will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home.

Vertie Mae Duncan was born January 3, 1921 in Tabler, Oklahoma. She died December 17, 2009 in Chickasha.

Ms. Duncan worked as secretary to the Mayor of Chickasha from 1943-1944. She worked in the passport office for the Department of State for 15 years and worked in the General Services Administration for 19 years. Ms. Duncan worked for a total of 34 years for the Federal Government in Washington, D.C.

She was a member of the Southern Oaks Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by: Parents. Survivors include: 2 sisters: Evelyn Tucker of Fremont, California and Jean Grover of Fairfax, Virginia. Many nieces and nephews.

Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
