Dorothy Betty [Golden] Calhoun

Funeral service for Dorothy Betty Calhoun, 86, of Midwest City, Oklahoma, formerly of Chickasha, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, January 2, 2003, at the Southern Hills Baptist Church.

Dorothy Betty Calhoun was born October 8, 1916, in Seminole, Oklahoma, the daughter of James and Theodoshia Golden. She went to be with the Lord December 28, 2002.

Betty lived in Chickasha most of her life. She moved to Midwest City in 1998 and lived with her daughter and granddaughter. She passed away at Baptist Hospital due to a lengthy illness.

Betty was a member of the Southern Hills Baptist Church in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She enjoyed helping other people in times of need and had a caring and joyous spirit. She will be missed by many people.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Calhoun, in 1991; parents; 3 brothers: Perry, Clarmon, and J. T. Golden.

Survivors include: 1 daughter: Joann Harper of Midwest City, Oklahoma; 1 son and daughter-in-law: Kenneth and June Calhoun of Midwest City; 5 grandchildren: Barry Hess and wife, Traci; Jan Hess, Gayla Wilson and husband, Steve; Kenneth Calhoun, Jr., and wife, Shannon; and Scott Calhoun; 11 great grandchildren: Ivy Hess, Hailey Hess, Griffin Hess, Taryn Tanksley and husband, Curtis, Allison Wilson, Austin Calhoun, Jenson Calhoun, Josh Mosby, Jordan Mosby, Destiny Mosby, and Danielle Mosby; 1 great, great grandchild, Austin Tanksley.

Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Chickasha, Oklahoma, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
