Tempie D. Booher

Graveside services for Tempie D. Booher, 100, long time resident of Chickasha and Ninnekah, will be held Saturday, April 16, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

Tempie D. Booher was born February 5, 1905, in Indian Territory, Oklahoma, the daughter of Jack Donaldson and Minnie [Payne] Donaldson. She died Wednesday, April 13, 2005, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

She attended school and graduated from Chickasha High School in the class of 1922.

Tempie and Harvey Booher were married on April 15, 1933, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. This union brought them three children: Donald, Loren and Janelle.

Tempie was known as "Granny" by all. The moments she cherished most were the ones while surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The love she shared was easily recognized by the glimmer in her eyes and the laughter in her voice. Her fried chicken and her apricot cobbler will be remembered forever!

She was one of the original employees of H. S. Kress in Chickasha. She also worked at J. C. Penney, Elliot Wholesale Candy and The Dixie Store.

Tempie recently celebrated her 100th birthday with family members. She was recognized by Governor Brad Henry, the Mayor of Broken Arrow, and George and Laura Bush.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Donald and Nell Booher, of Tulsa, and Loren and Dorothy Booher, of Sherman, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law; Janelle and Bill Fink, of Cleburne, Texas; one sister, Betty Campbell, of Chickasha, nine grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday April 15, 2005, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
