John William Boles

Funeral service for John William Boles, 96, of Oklahoma City was held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 6, 1994 in the Victory Baptist Church in Purcell, OK.

John William Boles was born July 21, 1897 in Grady County, Indian Territory, the son Robert and Marion Frances [Cadenhead] Boles and passed away Thursday, June 2, 1994 in Oklahoma City.

Mr. Boles married Mary Lena Dyer on June 16, 1927 in Chickasha.

He was a farmer and had lived most of his life in Chickasha. In the early 1950's he moved to a farm in McClain County then in 1968 he moved to Purcell, OK.

Mr. Boles had served in the United States Army in World War I. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church and the American Legion.

Mr. Boles was preceded in death by his parents, James Robert and Marion Frances Boles; one son John William Boles, Jr.; two sisters, Edna and Lucille Boles.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lena Boles of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Betty Craig of Norman, OK, Pat and husband Charles Schwamley of Oklahoma City,OK; one stepson, Bill Bassett of Cherokee, OK; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.

Interment was held in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Chickasha, OK under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
