Lurene C. [Colbert] Berga

Funeral service for Lurene C. Berga of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2014 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home officiated by Rev. David Thompson.

Lurene C. Berga was born Aug. 14, 1919 in Cement, was the daughter of Fred and Mae [Grimes] Colbert. She died June 4, 2014 in Lawton, at the age of 94.

She resided in the Norge Community and graduated from Pioneer High School in 1937.

She married Silas Berga on July 30, 1940 and moved to Wichita, Kansas. She returned to Chickasha in 1942 and lived on the family farm southwest of Chickasha.

She and her husband operated a dairy for 35 years. She also worked at Sentry Manufacturing and Maremont Corporation.

She moved to the town of Chickasha in 1994 and moved to Lawton in December of 2009.

She had been a member for the First Lutheran Church since 1950. She was very active as Ladies Aide and all church activities.

For the last two years her wonderful caretaker, Sabine Davis, took care of her like family.

Her husband, Silas M. Berga; son, Donald G. Berga, sisters, Rowena Fullerton, Juanita St. Clair and Velma Creed; and her parents, Fred and Mae Colbert preceded her in death.

Survivors include: two daughters: Barbara Ingle and husband Dave and Sherry Perkins and husband Jack; four sisters: Phyllis Otey, Fern Parish, Freida Michael and Delores Davila; daughter-in-law Sandye Berga, sister-in-law Gertrude Scott; nine grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Chickasha under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
