Vera E. [McHugh] Allen

Funeral services for Vera E. Allen, 95, of Chickasha will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday May 22, 2006, in the Parkview Christian Church with Jerl Joslin officiating.

Vera Allen was born September 23, 1910, in Norton, Oklahoma, the daughter of John E. McHugh and Lottie [Renfrow] McHugh. She died Friay, May 19, 2006, at her home.

Vera came to Chickasha in 1928, from the Johnson County area, after she completed her nurses training.

Vera and Daniel M. Allen were married on May 29, 1932. They had 66 wonderful years together before Dan preceded her in death in 1998.

She worked as an interior decorator from 1940 until 1972, putting her brilliant insights into many of the local homes and businesses all over Oklahoma.

She was a member of the Parkview Christian Church, the Rebekah Lodge, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Grady County Democrat Women's Club, and the Women's Business Club.

Vera was very active in the community and volunteered a lot of her time to various organizations.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan; both parents; two sisters: Neva Goade and Dora Gable; and brother, Fred McHugh.

She is survived by sister, Edith Dowdy; two dear nephews: Clark and Mike Gable; dear niece, Carol Emerson; and a host of other nieces, nephews, and friends.

Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

Graveside services for Azalene [Brown] Allen, 91, of Oklahoma City, Okla., will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 11, 2003, at Rose Hill Cemetery, Chickasha, Okla.

Azalene [Brown] Allen was born April 14, 1912, and died on Wednesday, July 9, 2003.

Services are under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Graveside memorial services for Dorothy Blanche Graham, 85, of Tulsa, Okla., will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Chickasha, Okla.

Dorothy Blanche Graham was born Feb. 24, 1918, in Chickasha, and died on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003, in Tulsa.

Services are under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Rubye D. Allen


Funeral for Rubye D. Allen, 81, Lawton, will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2002, at the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel.

Mrs. Allen died Thursday, July 4, 2002, in a local care center.

Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Chickasha.

She was born November 23, 1920, in Chickasha, to Forrest and Mary Blanche Hudson. She had been employed as a bookkeeper for many years.

Survivors include her sister, Dorothy Graham, Tulsa; a niece, Sherry McKinney, Lawton; and many other nieces, nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry W. Allen, and her parents, three sisters and a brother.

Memorial contributions may be made to Westview Boy's Home, P. O. 553, Hollis, OK 73550-0553, or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Sandra R. "Sandy" [Estep] Allen


Funeral service for Sandra R. 'Sandy' Allen, 65, of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the First Christian Church, Chickasha.

Sandra R. 'Sandy' Allen was born November 9, 1944 in Horton, Kansas the daughter of Raymond and Thelma Mae [Boyer] Estep. She died February 10, 2010 in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Sandy came to Chickasha in 1959. She graduated from Chickasha High School in 1962. She attended Oklahoma College for Women and graduated from Oklahoma State University.

She and Richard Allen were married May 29, 1965.

Sandy taught English for one year in Choctaw, Oklahoma and also taught in the Chickasha Public Schools. She later worked for the Department of Human Services.

Sandy was a member of the First Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by: Parents. Survivors include: Husband: Richard Allen, 2 sons: Dr. Tate Allen and wife, Judy, Dr. Derrick Allen and wife, Dr. Mary Beth Johnson, 1 sister: Janet Mueller and husband, Dick, 1 brother: Al Estep, 1 grandson: Liam James Allen.

Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
