Funeral for Bill Smedley, 74, former Grady County resident, will be at
4 pm Saturday, March 24, 1984, in the Methodist Church in Wegener, S.C.,
under the direction of Blizzard Funeral Home.
Mr. Smedley was born Oct. 9, 1909, near Verden. He died Thursday,
March 22, 1984, in the Wegener, S.C. hospital.
Mr. Smedley was a 1928 graduate of Meridian High School and attended
Oklahoma A & M College, Stillwater. He had lived in South Carolina
since 1957.
Mr. Smedley was preceded in death by his parents, Alice and W. J.
Smedley; three brothers, Donald Smedley, R. L. Smedley and Roy D.
Smedley; and one sister, Hildred Smedley Jeffries.
Survivors include his wife, Eva, of the home; three sisters, Mrs.
Lucile (Pat) Wolf, Mrs. Helen Steinel and Mrs. Ruth Moore, all of Oklahoma
City; two nephews, Mike Steinel of Oklahoma City, and Ray Smedley of Tulsa;
three nieces, Carol Jane Wolf of Oklahoma City, Jeri Smedley White of
Midwest City, and Joan Brummell of Chickasha.
