James Wayne McGuffin

Graveside services for James W. McGuffin, 59, of Cement, will be held Friday, August 15, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. in the Laverty Cemetery.

James McGuffin was born October 22, 1943, in Chickasha. He died August 11, 2003, in Oklahoma City.

Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

James Wayne McGuffin

Graveside services for James W. "Jim" McGuffin, 59, of Cement, will be held Friday, August 15, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. in the Laverty Cemetery.

James McGuffin was born October 22, 1943, in Chickasha, the son of Roland J. McGuffin and Elva May Whitley McGuffin. He died August 11, 2003, in Oklahoma City.

James grew up in the Midwest City area and attended Midwest City schools. He graduated from Midwest City High School. Later he became a welder and returned to Chickasha when he was in his early 20's. He also was employed by his father on the family farm.

James had various jobs over the years. He was a cross-country truck driver and worked on different dairy farms in the Chickasha area. He had also lived in Blanchard and Sulphur before returning to live in the Chickasha area in 2000.

He was a member of the Elk's Lodge and was baptized in the Glenwood Baptist Church in Midwest City.

He was preceded in death by both parents, one brother, a twin sister, and his wife, Jimmy Ruth, who died in 1997.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Mark T. McGuffin of Aztec, New Mexico, and Lora McGuffin, of Cement; one daughter, Jeanie D. Cole of Farmington, New Mexico; one sister, Linda McGuffin of Cement, five grandchildren, Travis and Jordan McGuffin of Cement, Oklahoma, and Bailey, Makenzie and Hunter Cole of Farmington, New Mexico; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
