August 13, 1892 ~ October 9, 1967


Mary Ellen "Babe" [Sullivan] Zurline was first married to Bob Weir. They had one daughter, Roberta Weir.

Her second husband was John Zurline, and they had 2 children, Joe and Willie Mae Zurline.

Requiem Mass was said for Mrs. Mary Ellen Zurline by Rev. George Zins at 10 a.m. today in the Holy Name Catholic Church.

Active pallbearers were Joe Rigney Ross, Ed Frey, Sylvester Maier, John Bitschi, John Powers, and Bill Bullard.

Honarary pallbearers were Joe F. Ross, Ed Burtschi, Clyde Turner, Dee Cavaness, Sam Dorchester, Frank Frey, Rudolph Frey, Lawrence Holland, Sr., and Maurice McClaran.

Ushers were Andrew Reding, Richard Heidlage, and Bill Bitsche.

Interment was in the Holy Name Section of the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Sevier Funeral Home.

Ada Josephine [Robertson] Zurline
November 19, 1925 ~ January 1, 2010

Funeral Mass for Ada Josephine Zurline, 84, formerly of Chickasha, OK will be held at 11:00 a.m, Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at the Holy Name Catholic Church. Wake service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 5, 2010 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home.

Ada Josephine Zurline was born November 19, 1925 in Phoenix, AZ to William T. and Hazel [Stibbens] Robertson. She passed away on Friday, January 1, 2010 in Oklahoma City, OK.

Mrs. Zurline graduated from St. Joseph's Acadamy and lived in Chickasha over 50 years. She worked at Grady Memorial Hospital and at various Chickasha nursing homes.

She and Joseph Cornelius Zurline were marred on October 25, 1946 in Chickasha, OK.

He served with Foster Grandparents Association in Maysville and Oklahoma City and retired over 10 years ago.

Mrs. Zurline was a former member of the Holy Name Catholic Church in Chickasha, OK.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Zurline on February 12, 1996.

Mrs. Zurline is survived by 6 children: Bill Zurline and his wife, Thaylia, Steve Zurline and his wife, Lynnette, Mike Zurline and his wife, Serina, Connie Miller and her husband, Tony, Beverly Durkie and her husband, Doug and Marilu Bowen and her husband, Delmar; 17 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; a sister: Nora Hollingshead; a sister-in-law: Willie Mae Sandwell; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Interment will be in Holy Name at Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home, Chickasha, OK.

William "Bill" John Zurline
March 1, 1949 ~ October 22, 2010


William "Bill" John Zurline, 61, of Maysville passed away Friday, October 22, 2010 at Alva, after a tragic 4-wheeler accident. He was born March 1, 1949 in Chickasha to Joseph Cornelius and Ada Josephine [Stibbens] Zurline.

Bill grew up in Chickasha graduating from St. Joseph High School.

Later he served in the National Guard.

Bill married Thaylia Pearcy on March 25, 1972 in Chickasha.

He graduated Oklahoma State University with a B.S. in Biochemistry and later furthered his education by earning a Physician Assistant degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1974.

Bill started his career in Abilene, Texas, then moved to Frederick in the early W80's where he worked in the Emergency Room before moving to Atoka in 1988. Later he became employed with the Purcell Municipal Hospital by working at their rural health clinic in Maysville. He worked at the Maysville Medical Center for 14 years.

Dr. Bill, as he was affectionately known, always had time for everyone and he loved his patients and they loved him.

He was also employed at Integris Marshall Memorial Hospital in Madill where he would work weekends at the emergency room. He had a love for working the emergency rooms at hospitals, while at Maysville he also worked in the Purcell Municipal Hospital and Lindsay Municipal Hospital in the ER.

After leaving Maysville, he went to work in the emergency room at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Ardmore, while continuing to work weekends at the Madill hospital.

Bill was a big supporter of all school functions and had served the Maysville Warriors as their team PA. He was currently serving as the President of the Maysville School Board in which he has been a member of for several years. Bill was a member of the Oklahoma Academy of Physician Assistants where he was awarded the Physician Assistant of the Year in 1991-92. He belonged to the Oklahoma Miniature Horse Association, and the Oklahoma and American Boer Goat Association.

Bill enjoyed antiquing with his wife, Thaylia and he really enjoyed going four-wheeling at Little Sahara for the past nine years. He loved to go the high school football games to watch Phillip play, and enjoyed watching his granddaughters playing in sports, band, and showing goats.

Bill was a member of the Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Purcell. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Dr. Bill was a compassionate man who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Thaylia of the home; sons: Matt Zurline and his wife, Kris of Clinton and Mark Zurline and his wife, Anita of Atoka; daughter, Mignon Zurline of Maysville; brothers: Mike Zurline and his wife, Serina of Lindsay, Steve Zurline and his wife, Lynette of Carthage, Texas; sisters: Connie Miller and her husband, Tony of Oklahoma City; Beverly Durkie and her husband, Doug of Florida; Marilu Bowen and her husband, Delmar of Verden; grandchildren: Steph and Robby Smithart; Phillip and Tifanie Stephens; Jordan Zurline, Nataleigh Zurline, Hillary Zurline, Macey Wolfe, Magan Wolfe, and Matt Zurline, Jr.; great grandchildren: Addison Stephens, Karsyn Stephens, and Axel Smithart; and his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A wake will be held at 6 p.m., Monday, Oct. 25, 2010 at Winans Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon John Warren officiating.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at the Maysville High School Gymnasium with Father Shane Tharp officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Chickasha under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home.
