Margaret Elizabeth [Elliott] SmithApril 8, 1918 - May 30, 2012

Margaret Elliott Smith, 94, of Norman died Wednesday, May 30 in Noble, Oklahoma.

She was born April 8, 1918 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to John Asbury Elliott and Margaret Elizabeth [Allen].

She attended the University of Oklahoma earning a bachelor's degree in French. She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority and a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Norman.

Before moving to Norman in 1990, she lived on a ranch northwest of Chickasha in Grady County. Margaret was a secretary for the Dept. of Human Services in Chickasha for 26 years. She enjoyed watercolor painting and gardening.

She married Thad D Smith on Oct. 12, 1946. He preceded her in death on Jan. 4, 1990.

Margaret is survived by one son, Thad Smith III of Boulder, Colorado; one daughter, Sarah Ann Tointigh of Noble; one sister, Eileen Ramer of North Bend, OR; her four grandchildren, John Tointigh, Amy Tointigh, Alison Struska and Joel Smith; and four great-grandchildren

A Celebration of Life will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, June 4 at St. Michaels's Episcopal Church in Norman. Interment will be 12:30 PM in the Holcomb Cemetery on the Smith Family Farm in Chickasha. Family and friends are invited to both services.
