Henry Walter Lovett

LOVETT DIES IN ELECTRIC CHAIR

Shows No Sign of Emotion and Refuses to Talk As Led to Death Chamber McAlester, Oklahoma, September 25, (AP) Showing no sign of emotion, and without breaking the silence that he had maintained for several days, Henry Lovett, 38-year-old farmer, was put to death in the state penitentiary early today for the killing of Dee Foliart, El Reno high school coach, during a bank robbery last November.

Walking limply, Lovett was assisted into the death chamber by a guard. A stubborn, set grimace was on his face as he walked to the chair.

When asked if he had any final words, Lovett made no answer. Reading of a telegram from a sister and a niece in Oklahoma City failed to bring from him any sign of emotion.

As he was being strapped in the chair, Lovett clenched his hands, but made no other movement.

The current was turned on at 12:06 am and three minutes later he was pronounced dead."
