Mary Daniel [Maupin] Fitzpatrick
FUNERAL HELD FOR PIONEER Last rites for Mrs. Mary Fitzpatrick, 78, long-time resident of Chickasha, were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the chapel of the Brown Funeral Home by Rev. George R. Davis, pastor of the First Christian Church. Interment was in the Holcomb Cemetery, north of Chickasha.
Music for the service was furnished by Mrs. Charles Ferguson, Mrs. L. A. Davis and Mrs. Barney Lovett, with Miss Ruby Lacer as accompanist. Their selections included "Asleep In Jesus," "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere."
Mrs. Fitzpatrick died about 9:30 o'clock Tuesday morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Roy D. Hill, 710 South Eleventh Street.
On Feb. 25, 1861, Mrs. Fitzpatrick was born in Manchester, Clay County, KY. She came to Palus Valley in 1874 with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. John Maupin, and on Dec. 9, 1880, she was married to the late Jim Fitzpatrick. In 1918 she joined the Methodist Church at Magdalena, N. M. For the past 26 years Mrs. Fitzpatrick had been a resident of Chickasha.
All of her children were at her bedside at the time of her death.
Surviving members of the family include a son, A. C. Fitzpatrick of Chickasha; six daughters, Mrs. Aloce Osborne of Maysville, Mrs. Lydia La Plante of Pierre, S. D., Mrs Nora Cyrier of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Nell Montgomery of Phoenix, Mrs. Roy D. Hill of Chickasha and Mrs. Marie Welker of Bakersfield, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Lina Moncrief of Chickasha; 25 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers for the service were Boone Bailey, Charles Pruner, Henry Hill, Frank Reynolds, Polk Jones and Wylie Bryant.
