April 18, 1934 ~ April 30, 2006


Funeral services for Katheryn Mathis Green, 72, of Tuttle, Oklahoma were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at the Tuttle United Methodist Church.

Katheryn Mathis Green was born April 18, 1934, the last of eight children, in Atwood, Oklahoma the daughter of William Wesley and Mattie Elizabeth [McNutt] Mathis and died April 30, 2006.

Katheryn graduated from Atwood High School as Salutatorian in 1952. She and Lavoy Green were married April 17, 1954 in Allen, Oklahoma. She lived in Tuttle for 40 years. She participated in PTO when her daughters were in school, was a member of the Band Boosters, a member of the Tuttle United Methodist Church for 40 years, was past president of United Methodist Women as well as holding several offices on the State level. She was a "hostess with the mostest", hosting many Christmas parties.

Katheryn retired from Sooner State Bank as a bank teller.

She was preceded in death by: Her parents: Wes and Mattie Mathis; four brothers: Mal Mathis, Lowell Mathis, Gus Dean "Toots" Mathis, and James "Bill" Mathis; two sisters: Margaret Mathis Christopher, Lucille Mathis Reeves.

Survivors include: Husband: Lavoy Green of the home; two daughters: Julie Green Bell and husband Wayne of Burleson, Texas, Jill Green Shouse and husband Danny of Edmond, Oklahoma; one sister: Ruth Mathis Jenkins of Holdenville, Oklahoma; Mother-in-law: Thelma Green of Sasakwa, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Jon, Jarod, and Jackson Bell, Katie Beth, Dani Jo and Seth Shouse.

Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
