Shirley Ann "Mickey" [Gore] Bates
May 14, 1936 ~ February 2, 2007


Shirley Ann "Mickey" Bates was born May 14, 1936 in Pocasset, Okla. to Audra [Nutt] and Ed Gore.

Mickey has lived in the Blanchard area for over 50 years and attended Bridge Creek High School. She was a member of the Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God Church in Oklahoma City and enjoyed working with the Hillcrest Children's Home and the Polycystic Kidney Foundation of America.

Mickey was a homemaker and had earned a cosmetology license. She enjoyed doll collecting and Eureka Springs was her favorite town to visit.

Mickey passed away Feb. 2, 2007 at 70 years of age.

Survivors include her husband, Don, of the home; sons, Rickie Bates and wife, Joann of Tombstone, Ariz., Don Douglas Bates and wife, Kathi of Yukon and Terry Bates and wife, Robin of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Kristi and Tobi Ross, Jeremiah, Joshua and Cyndi, Jessica, Jeffrie, Zachery, Katie, Nicholas, Mathew, Rachael, Naomi, and Jason; great grandchildren, Emily, Joey, Landon; sisters, Troy Lee Preston and husband, Orvil of Modesto, Calif., Doris Wright of Tuttle and Connie Rogers and husband Doug of Blanchard; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Sonny Gore and Billy Joe Gore.

Services were held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007 at the Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God Church in Oklahoma City. Reverend Terry Bates, Pastor Theodore Hughes and Reverend Melvin Grant officiated with interment held in the Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle. Arrangements made by Eisenhour Funeral Home, Blanchard.
